The Calvary Amplar Health Joint Venture is a joint venture between Calvary Health Care and Amplar Health. Backed by the strength of Calvary Health Care and Amplar Health since 2020 and drawing upon over 100 years of healthcare excellence in Australia, we have united our efforts in the form of a Joint Venture to stand at the forefront of delivering exceptional virtual hospital services. Amplar Health is part of the Medibank group.

The Calvary Amplar Health Joint Venture leverages cutting-edge digital healthcare innovations to deliver quality, acute care to patients within the comfort of their own homes. We deliver this through a combination of remote monitoring software and partnership with local service providers to enable face-to-face care.

General Practitioner/Medical Officer

The GP specialist and non-GP specialist medical officer position oversees and provides virtual acute patient care and applies medical knowledge and experience in the clinical diagnosis, investigation, treatment, and ongoing management of acute conditions for patients in our virtual hospital.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, our doctors work 8 hour shifts across a 7-day roster. We offer both part time and full-time opportunities. We provide virtual care, with on ground nursing, allied health and paramedic support, for more than 150 diagnostic related groups, covering a wide breadth of clinical conditions. Our doctors enjoy flexibility and autonomy and work from the comfort of their own home from anywhere in Australia.

We employ experienced physicians and clinicians with an interest delivering care through new and innovative healthcare technology. Medical practitioners with at least 5 years’ worth of experience post fellowship in the field of specialty that they work & specialists with a FACEM, FRACGP, FACRRM, FRACP are encouraged to apply.

Care Coordinator

The Care Coordinator position provides patient care coordination and applies clinical knowledge and experience in the clinical assessment, care planning, monitoring and ongoing remote coordination and care plan management of patients in our virtual hospital.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, our registered nurses work 8 hour shifts across a 7-day roster. We offer both part time and full-time opportunities. We provide virtual care and services to patients in their home and remotely over video and the phone. This role requires you to  be knowledgeable about health care practice’s and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members who live and breathe a service centric culture by providing patient centred care.

Our programs

My Home Hospital

My Home Hospital is an SA Health service delivered by the Calvary Amplar Health Joint Venture that provides acute, hospital-level care to patients in the comfort and privacy of their own homes.

Since commencing in January 2021, the My Home Hospital service has serviced over 10,000 patients (as of November 2023) in the greater Adelaide region.

We continue to expand our scope to enable delivery of care to a wider range of patients including post-surgical care options that address bed challenges for elective and non-elective surgery.

Covid Care at Home

The Calvary Amplar Health Joint Venture was a leader in the virtual COVID-19 response through the delivery of the Covid Care at Home program.

Covid Care at Home was a key hospital avoidance strategy and demonstrated our expertise and capability to rapidly scale and deliver virtual care across the nation.

A team of remote agents, in collaboration with a clinical workforce managing and triaging each patient, made hundreds of calls daily to COVID-positive patients.

We helped nearly 200,000 COVID-positive patients across Australia, caring for people in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia.
